All Kellogg Laptop Program ThinkPads since the T40 are equipped with a combo drive capable of playing DVDs. KIS has pre-loaded the DVD drivers and software onto the Kellogg Laptop Program (KLP) image. All you should need to do to watch a DVD on your laptop is to insert it in the DVD drive -- the DVD player will start automatically. To view the DVD in full screen mode, double click on the main window.
Monitor/projector: To connect to an external monitor or projector, simply attach the monitor/projector cable to the video-out port. The video-out port is the black one. It is located on the right side of the T43 and the left side of the T60. Once you're attached to the monitor or projector, type Fn-F7 to bring up the Display Settings prompt. Select Dual Display (XGA: ThinkPad and Analog External) and the display will switch automatically. Press Fn-F7 to bring up the menu again later to return to your normal display settings. Follow the instructions in the next section for connecting to a TV.
Monitor/projector: To connect to an external monitor or projector, simply attach the monitor/projector cable to the video-out port. The video-out port is located on the right side of the T43/T41/T40 and the left side of the T60. Once you're attached to the monitor or projector, type Fn-F7 to switch to the external monitor. Press Fn-F7 again to display video on both the laptop's LCD and external monitor, and a third time to go back to LCD-only display.
TV: Please note that the KLP ThinkPad T60 does not include an S-Video port. The instructions below only apply to prior models (T4x).
You will need to buy a cable to connect the laptop to a TV. First, check your TV and/or VCR for an S-video connection. The port will look exactly like the one on your laptop (on the back of the T23, left side on the T40/T41/T43). If your TV doesn't have one, check your VCR--it will be harder, as you'll have to figure out how to get your VCR to display the signal from the S-video port--but it should work.
To get an S-video cable, stop by an electronics store, such as Radio Shack, Best Buy, or Circuit City. You'll need an S-video to S-video cable.

Once you have the cable and have attached the TV to your laptop, change your laptop resolution to 800x600. To do this, right-click on the desktop and select Properties. Go to the Settings tab and slide the Screen Area slider to the left until the resolution is at 800x600. Click Apply. You will see prompts asking is you want to accept the changes - click OK/Yes.
Keep the Display Properties window open and click on the Advanced button. Click on the Displays tab. If your TV is connected correctly, you should see a blue icon next to TV.
