Overview

Kellogg provides students with access to common network drives. The network printer folders allow students to print from their laptop to any public computing printer. The personal home directory supplies network storage for files, so students can access them from anywhere with a network connection. The web server and personal web directory grant students access to files stored on the Kellogg Website, and provide space for a personal web page.

1. Go to the start menu, right-click Computer and select Map Network Drive…, as illustrated to the right.

Important Notes

Mapping Drives from Off-Campus:

If you wish to map or connect to network drives from off-campus, you must first connect to NU VPN.

Password Changes require Re-Mapping Network Drives:

Each time you change your NetID password, you must disconnect and remap all network drives.

To disconnect your drives, go to the Start Menu and select Computer. Then select each Kellogg network drive (ctrl-click to select multiple drives), right-click a selected drive, and select Disconnect.

You may also need to remove stored passwords in your Windows Vista User Account. To do this, go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Open User Accounts and then select Manage your Network Passwords on the Tasks list on the left side of the window. Select and remove all stored passwords.

Once you have removed stored passwords and disconnected the mapped drives, complete steps 1-3 above to remap your network drives.
