School Orientations
Immediately prior to the first year of the program, JD-MBA students participate in the Law School’s orientation program. Immediately prior to the second year of the program, JD-MBA students participate in Kellogg’s CIM activities. Many JD-MBAs also participate in Kellogg Worldwide Experience and Service Trips (KWEST) before beginning business school classes. By participating in the orientations of both schools, JD-MBA students become an integral part of each first year class.

Student Organizations
JD-MBA students may become members of any of the Kellogg School and Law School student organizations. Student organization officers are selected through an election process among their members.

Northwestern Shuttle Service between the Evanston and Chicago Campuses
Kellogg is located on the Evanston campus while the Law School is located on the downtown Chicago campus. There is a free shuttle bus for students, faculty, and staff to link the two campuses. Shuttles depart frequently throughout the day; travel time is approximately 35 minutes. The JD-MBA program does not require simultaneous enrollment in courses on both campuses so students should not need to make multiple daily trips between campuses.

Many JD-MBA students prefer to live near the Chicago campus during their first year and first summer and move to Evanston for the second year. However some students live in Evanston during the entire program, while others prefer to stay in Chicago.

Staying Connected
At the Law School and the Kellogg School important announcements and information are posted on the student intranet sites. Both schools make frequent use of email as a means for official communication to the student body.

JD-MBA Student Association
The JD-MBA Association is a student organization designed to focus on the needs of joint-degree students including curriculum, career development and program administration. In addition, the admissions, social and alumni committees plan activities throughout the school year to promote interaction among JD-MBA students.
