ensure that student clubs are clearly branded as belonging to the Kellogg
School of Management, the administration has developed guidelines for including

The Marketing &
Communications department will review all club logos for compliance to
the guidelines. It will also create a standard club logo for any club
that does not wish to design their own logo. Please send requests for
a standard logo or for approval of an original club logo to Thom Duncan,
senior director of Marketing & Communications, at thomd@kellogg.northwestern.edu.
Original Logo Designs
If you wish to create an original logo design for your club, we strongly
recommend that students use a professional designer. The Kellogg School
cannot offer design services for club logos. However, often a club member
has a designer friend who will do the job at little or no cost to the
club. Please direct the designer to this Web page for guidelines. One
benefit of using a professional designer is that the original format will
be usable in many different applications, such as on a Web page or embroidered
on a shirt. Note that designs created in Microsoft Office applications
typically cannot be converted easily for commercial printing or T-shirt
use.
Club Logo Design
Guidelines
Refer to the general guidelines for use of the
Kellogg logo. In addition, the following guidelines are useful to
club logo designs:
- The Kellogg School
logo may not be altered or covered up in any part.
- The Kellogg School
logo must never be presented smaller than 2.5 inches wide, including
the Northwestern seal, or not less than 180 pixels wide (this is the
size of the Example Standard Club logos above).
- The font for club
names in the standard club logo is Gill Sans Condensed, all caps, 28
pt. on 28 pt. leading. Original club logo designs are not required to
match this font.
- When embroidering
a design that incorporates the Kellogg School logo, the Northwestern
seal is too fine too stitch. In this instance only, the Northwestern
seal may be removed from the Kellogg School logo, and the words “School
of Management” may need to be changed to all caps. Designers should
consider this restriction when forming an original logo. The standard
club logo is designed to allow the seal to be removed without affecting
the rest of the logo.
