The Kellogg
School's Finance department is renowned in a broad range of
specialties, from technical asset pricing to corporate financial
policies and capital market dynamics. Faculty research is consistently
recognized by award-winning publications in flagship finance
journals. The Finance faculty also serve as editors of leading
professional publications, setting the standards for new ideas
in finance. The Finance major, among the most popular at the
Kellogg School, takes full advantage of this expertise in a
broad set of courses taught by faculty at the forefront of the
field.
Our faculty
has designed a range of courses offering a solid understanding
of the fundamental techniques and practices of modern finance.
Our curriculum reflects
many years of teaching experience and is continuously updated
to incorporate the latest financial market developments and
important innovations in academic research.
Whether a student intends to be a finance
specialist or a management generalist, corporate finance and
financial markets are an integral part of the vocabulary of
business. Two majors are offered through the Finance Department:
finance,
and analytical
finance. The finance major is our primary major, providing
an excellent background for the full range of career paths
and industries. The analytical finance major is a recent addition
to the Kellogg School curriculum and provides a more technical
background in financial markets and modeling. This major is
designed for students who plan to take specialized finance
positions.
To assist students in determining their career
path in the highly competitive industry of Investment Banking
& Capital Markets (IBCM), the Kellogg School established
the Investment Banking and Capital Markets (IBCM) track, a
foundation series of finance courses combined with courses
that focus on specific investment banking functions, Wall
Street innovations and recent developments within the hedge
fund and LBO fund arenas. Learn
