Student Lunches

The Dean’s Office supports lunches/dinners that you can have with your students. For Evanston classes, the Dean’s Office will pay for two lunches per section at the Allen Center (up to 10 students per lunch). For Evanston courses, your liaison should contact the Kellogg Course Support Optimization Team.

For Chicago classes, you can designate an evening to join your students between 5:00 and 6:00 pm at the Kellogg Table. The Senior Associate Dean suggests that you ask your student liaison to organize the lunches/dinners within the first four weeks of the quarter as a way to get to know your students. Learn more about the Kellogg Table at the Evening & Weekend MBA Student Intranet teaching page.

Course Evaluations

Course and Teacher Evaluations (CTECs) are an important source of information for faculty and students. The Dean's Office asks that instructors administer evaluations consistently across all classes and that students be given adequate time to complete the evaluations, following the guidelines below:

  • Faculty should remind students to bring laptops to class to complete CTECs during the last regular scheduled meeting of the class.
  • Students should be given at least 15 minutes of class time to complete the CTEC. Better results are achieved when evaluations are administered at the beginning of class. However, if the professor elects to administer the CTEC at the end of class, the class should end 15 minutes early to allow sufficient time.
  • CTECs should be completed while the instructor leaves the room In order to maximize student participation and feedback, signal our commitment, and preserve the integrity of the evaluations. The student liaison manages this process and notifies the professor when the class may resume.

If you require an alternative date or special arrangements for your CTEC open and close times, please contact your Course Support administrator or the CSO team at csoteam@kellogg.northwestern.edu.
