Welcome to the web page for Professor Matsa’s Corporate Finance course (FINC 441). The first day of class is Monday, January 6.

 

Course Description

 

Finance II is the second course in the finance sequence.  Prior to taking this course you should have mastered the material in Finance I (FINC 430).  By now you should understand the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), portfolio theory, and the basics of capital budgeting.  Finance II will expand your knowledge of capital budgeting, will include an introduction to options, and will cover dividend policy and capital structure.

 

The material from Finance I is a fundamental prerequisite for this course.  In addition you should have mastered the material from Financial Accounting (Accounting 430), Microeconomics (Microeconomics 430), and Statistics/Business Analytics (Decision Science 431, 434, 437, or equivalent).
