Aaron Gellman joined the faculty of the Kellogg School of Management in 1992 as a professor of management and strategy. He also holds an appointment as professor of industrial engineering at the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. Dr. Gellman was the Director of the Transportation Center, Northwestern University, a position he assumed in January 1992 through August 2000. He founded and was formerly president of Gellman Research Associates, Inc., a consulting firm. He served 24 years as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

Professor Gellman's research and teaching include transportation economics and policy, the regulation of transportation, and the management and utilization of research and technology. He is the author of numerous published papers and has served on government panels and committees, as well as corporate boards. Hisprojects include an economic and financial review of Airbus Industry; case studies of the effects of product liability laws on the industrial competitiveness of U S. firms and industries in domestic and international markets; a study of the disbenefits arising from restrictions on all-cargo air carriers in Hong Kong; a specialized course on technology transfer for a government agency; comparative analyses of intermodal systems; and a study of the privatization of airports in a developing nation.

Professor Gellman is a member of the American Economic Association; Transportation Research Forum; Transportation Research Board; American Railway Engineering Association; and the Pennsylvania Conference of Economists. He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
