Sandwich Simulation
The sandwich simulation is designed
to show the impact of process design on waiting time performance and flow time.
There are four scenarios that can be simulated. All files for a particular scenario
must be downloaded to a common directory before the simulation is run on ProcessModel.
- The first scenario considers one person making sandwiches, taking on average
11 min per sandwich. The files needed are sandwich1.flo,
sandwich1.glb, sandwich1.pmd.
- The second scenario considers two persons in series making the sandwich.
The tasks are divided so that each person takes an average of 5.5 minutes
for their task. One person finishing their task hands off to the next person.
The files needed are sandwich2.flo, sandwich2.glb,
sandwich2.pmd.
- The third scenario considers two persons in paralle making complete sandwiches.
Each person takes an average of 11 minutes for making a sandwich. The files
needed are sandwich3.flo, sandwich3.glb,
sandwich3.pmd.
- The second scenario considers two persons working together to make the sandwich,
on average in 5.5 minutes. Consider this a situation where one person makes
the left half and the second the right half of the sandwich. The files needed
are sandwich4.flo, sandwich4.glb,
sandwich4.pmd.
