Creating and Sustaining Success at Walmart

Abstract

In 2022, Walmart operated over 10,000 discount stores, supercenters, and Sam's Clubs worldwide, more than half of which were in the US. It was the largest non-governmental employer and generated more revenue than any other company in the world. Expansion overseas had led to mixed results, however, and the company now turned its attention toward other potential opportunities for growth, including e-commerce, edge computing, and healthcare. Which of these new services presented the best opportunity to help Walmart maintain its status as the largest company in the world?
