Julia D. Hur is a doctoral candidate at Kellogg School of Management. In August 2018, she will join the faculty at New York University. Her research explores motivation and goal pursuits in both individual and organizational levels. She examines how individuals' motivation and cognition are shaped by environmental factors, including rewards, social comparison, and organizational decisions, employing a multi-method approach with field studies, laboratory experiments, and archival data.
Julia has consulted for a variety of organizations in the global automotive, entertainment, and food industries. Her work has been published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, and the Academy of Management Proceedings. Prior to Kellogg, Julia received a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Yonsei University and a Master degree in Psychology, Social Science from University of Chicago.
