EXECUTIVE EDUCATION

Robert A. Cooper

Robert A. (Bob) Cooper is Senior Fellow, Kellogg School, Northwestern University and Academic Director of the Kellogg School's executive program "Driving Organic Top-Line Growth".

Bob's accomplishments are highlighted by a 32 year career with the DuPont Company in which he held numerous management positions including Sales & Marketing Manager, DuPont Industrial Nylon; Business Director, DuPont Advanced Composites and Director Corporate Growth, DuPont Corporate Plans.

In 1999, Chad Holliday (DuPont CEO) realized that DuPont had reached a "stall point" in its growth and asked Bob to develop and implement a process that would enable DuPont to accelerate its top-line driven earnings growth. The resulting Market Driven Growth (MDG) process was launched across DuPont in 2000 and to date nearly 90% of DuPont's SBU's have utilized it, building a multi-billion dollar growth portfolio for the company. DuPont Corporate Plans also worked extensively with Alcoa (whose CEO sits on DuPont's Board) to help them utilize the MDG process. Markets/industries where MDG has been deployed include automotive, agriculture, electronics, packaging, healthcare, imaging, military, polymers, and a broad cut of consumer businesses. Since mid 2003 DuPont has focused use of MDG on emerging markets enabling the company to reposition itself in China, India and Brazil.

Bob retired from DuPont in 2004 and joined the faculty of the Kellogg School where he and Mohanbir Sawhney (McCormick Tribune Professor of Technology) created Kellogg's executive program "Driving Organic Top-Line Growth". Bob also consults on growth strategies and processes with major corporations and recent clients include LG Chem (the largest chemical company in South Korea).

Bob has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brown University, a post-doctoral fellowship from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Delaware. Bob is a committed supporter of local community organizations having served as president of the Delaware Jewish Community Center and having worked extensively on community issues with the Wilmington, Delaware Planning Department.
