Rigor and relevance are the two guiding principles of the Kellogg School's academic program. Professors impart the latest management scholarship and look for ways to help students apply that knowledge outside of the classroom. This balance between research and real world is especially applicable to students in the EMBA Program, who are able to take back to work on Monday the lessons they learn during long weekends of study at the Kellogg School.

The chief goal of the curriculum is to help students develop the broad-ranging skill set they need to take a large view of their organizations and to guide these organizations more effectively in senior leadership roles. Students learn how to analyze and process information from a variety of sources in their strategic decision-making. Twenty-eight courses give students a firm grasp of the tools of general management, providing innovative techniques for solving managerial problems. In addition, the Miami EMBA Program's curriculum specifically provides students who have business interests in Latin America the opportunity to take innovative electives focused on Latin America.

The Kellogg School takes a global view of business issues and encourages students to do the same by choosing study abroad at one of the Kellogg School's partner institutions. Two Live-In Weeks allow students to form bonds with fellow study group members as well as network with participants from the school's partner institutions around the world. Extensive teamwork in small, cross-functional groups prepares graduates to collaborate even more effectively with organizational peers around the world.

Many students maintain close personal and professional ties with these colleagues long after graduation. These experiences pay dividends lasting well into the future.
