Career Management

  Studnt Interview

Beyond academic groundwork, the Kellogg school provides students with career development skills needed in a competitive job market. The Career Management Center (CMC) works with students, alumni and employers to help them achieve their job search and recruiting goals.

In its most recent survey, BusinessWeek ranked the Kellogg Career Management Center #1 with recruiters, calling it the "most effective" placement office of the top business schools.

The CMC offers a structured program of workshops and individual counseling to help students acquire the skills and develop the strategies that lead to a successful job search. The goal is not to "place" students, but to aid in finding a job that is the right fit for both the student and the employer.

In addition to corporate presentations, the CMC organizes Career Forums and Career Panels. Career Forums allow employers to communicate their job opportunities to students in an informal setting. Career Panels utilize prominent industry representatives to inform students about functional areas and industries.

The CMC annually coordinates nearly 10,000 interviews on campus - more than any other business school. Recruiting companies include investment banks, consumer product, high-tech and manufacturing companies, and consulting firms. In addition, companies that do not recruit on campus can list job postings with the CMC. These opportunities can be viewed by both students and alumni.

The CMC also maintains a career resource center for students and alumni. The center's holdings include company-supplied recruiting documents, annual reports, videotapes on careers, general reference books, geographical directories, and a variety of business periodicals and newspapers.
