What attracted you to the SEEK Program? If you graduated from Kellogg prior to SEEK being offered as a major, what drew you to courses relating to CSR, social responsibility or nonprofit management?

A personal interest in doing something that makes the world a better place, rather than just a focus on making money.

What attracted you to the Public Non Profit (PNP) Club, Students for Responsible Business (SRB) Club or Social Impact Club (SIC)?

The ability to meet with others that have similar interests.

What is the name of your current organization, and what does your organization do?

The Alternative Board (TAB) organizes peer boards of business owners who meet on a monthly basis to help each with challenges and opportunities. The process also includes monthly coaching, speakers, and access to information. We are a community of small business owners -- the business owner has the opportunity to run their own business, but is not alone in making it a success.

It is my desire to start peer boards composed of business owners of for-profit companies that focus on both the economic and social/environmental sphere, and the benefits and conflicts that can arise.

Please briefly describe your position or role at your organization.

I am a business coach and peer group facilitator, and owner of a franchise.

How are you applying the skills/knowledge you learned at Kellogg in your career?

I focused on entrepreneurship before this was an official concentration. The wide breadth of knowledge about starting and running a business has been extremely beneficial in coaching my TAB members both personally and professionally.
