On February 16th, a group of 10 Kellogg first-year students attended the 2010 Chicago Real Estate Trek in downtown Chicago organized by Jay Patel ’12, Lee Eisenstein ’12 and Devin Duffy ’12. Following the successful New York Real Estate Trek held in November, the organizers designed an agenda to allow students to explore various career opportunities while networking with distinguished real estate professionals from across the industry. – Stephen Livaditis, Senior Managing Director, provided students with an overview of the Chicago office market and presented a recent case study on a transaction that Eastdil Secured brokered in downtown Chicago. First Industrial Realty Trust
– Robert Walter (’90), Senior Vice President, and Art Harmon, Director of Investor Relations, spoke about First Industrials’ initiative to restructure its balance sheet and discussed how certain trends in the industrial supply chain will affect the supply and demand for industrial real estate in the near term. – Stephen Bailey and Gregory Leadholm, both Managing Directors with Heitman’s real estate debt group, described Heitman’s multi-faceted real estate investing platform and discussed two recent deals originated by the debt group.
