Kellogg:   Home | Insight | News         Office of the Dean | Link Archive         April 2008

Wide Awake in the Windy City published by NU Press

The definitive history of the Kellogg School is now available. Written by Matt Golosinski and edited by Rich Honack, the book traces the arc of our first 100 years. Features include a preface by Professor Wally Scott and over 100 photos dating from 1903 to the present.

The project involved three years of exhaustive research by Golosinski and was supported by the efforts of several colleagues. Thom Duncan served as liaison with Northwestern University Press, Carol Forsythe designed the logo used on the book's hardcover edition, and freelance photographer John Morrison came aboard as photo archivist. Many current and former faculty members, staff and alumni from Kellogg and Northwestern contributed their insights and anecdotes through extensive interviews with the author. Of course the support of Dean Dipak Jain and the Office of the Dean was instrumental in this project's successful outcome.

All faculty and staff will receive a free copy soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Additional (Kellogg) Insight: Cost Sharing Agreements: A tax-saving device for multi-nationals

Most managers who work in international businesses are aware that transfer prices — that is, the prices one division of their business pays or receives for products and/or services supplied to or acquired from its other divisions — can have a large effect on their total tax bill and their overall corporate-wide profitability.
