Kellogg Excellence in Action Awards Ceremony!

The Choy Krieg Family Leadership Award

Rebecca Parker Amy Stewart-Smith

Rebecca Parker
Director of Registration & Institutional Research
MBA Operations:
Registration and Records

Amy Stewart-Smith
Director of Marketing Executive Education

Excerpt from nomination:
Rebecca voluntarily stepped in and took charge of the Admissions office’s migration to Slate at a crucial time. . . Throughout the process, she maintained consistently high standards; even under intense pressure. She resisted options that looked expedient when a better long-term result might [have been] had with more effort. You can measure her results in how successfully this year of recruiting has gone for the Full-Time MBA Program.
Excerpt from nomination:
Amy is constantly looking for assignments and growth opportunities that will challenge her team and give them opportunities to grow professionally. Her efforts include identifying specific projects as well as internal and external developmental opportunities for every single member of her staff. [She] looks in all ways, big and small, for chances to help people grow. To work with Amy means you can grow, and she'll not only support you, but also advocate for you.

Business Development MBA Operations:
Career Management Center
Ilam Nikho

Excerpt from nomination:
As a volunteer mentor with Erie House, Jo Falk provides ongoing guidance, academic, and personal support to an at-risk high school student. . . Jo beams with pride when explaining how her mentee wants to go to college and enter the broadcast journalism field someday. . . It is difficult, if not impossible, to try to measure the impact Jo has had and continues to have on her mentee. . . Kellogg’s main purpose is to educate, and Jo’s volunteering directly relates to educating a student that may have otherwise been left behind.
Excerpt from nomination:
Ilam has a desire to help those in need at [her] church and at the job. Ilam’s strongest asset is her integrity. Her calm, cheerful and professional personality allows her to tackle every request, no matter how simple or complicated it may be, with thoroughness and calmness. . . She takes part in church programs and services through team efforts and with her family, specifically spending her time helping out in the kitchen, setting-up and taking home cooked food.

Douglas Foster
Program Assistant 4
Academic Affairs,

Excerpt from nomination:
The team’s collaborative development of DRRC’s teaching materials website exemplifies all of the criteria associated with this award. I am particularly proud of the team's latest accomplishment - a totally integrated student pay system because it extends the opportunity to many new students around the world to learn negotiation and decision making skills. . . That Kellogg is known globally for its negotiation teaching materials is to no small part due to the activity and devotion of this team. The team reflects Kellogg's core value of collaboration. They could not have done this without each other's support.
