The Levy Institute hosts: Entrepreneurship in Today's Market
Our annual conference brings alumni and students in various fields together for a unique opportunity to discuss entrepreneurship, ideas, and showcase products. Sponsored by Feldco (Doug Cook ’98), this year’s theme discusses the strategies that entrepreneurs can pursue to survive and prosper in today's challenging environment.

Panels - This year's panels feature entrepreneurs, industry experts, venture capitalists and government officials. Join them as they share their perspectives on founding and building entrepreneurial businesses. The panels investigate:

  • How to manage and improve your business in a downturn
  • Locating opportunities in out-of-favor industries like banking, media, retail, and restaurants
  • High growth potential investment areas like green technology, health care, and social networking
  • Recession proofing your business using strategies from companies that are doing well
  • How to obtain financing from angels, VC's, private equity firms, and bank lenders

Keynotes - Get updates on entrepreneurial activities at Kellogg, hear from our 2009 Alumni Master Entrepreneur of the Year, and get a teaching session on distressed investing from one of the top experts in the field.

MarketPlace - An exciting tradeshow of Kellogg businesses and entrepreneurial support firms.

Awards Ceremony - Each year, the Levy Institute recognizes distinguished Kellogg entrepreneurs who have contributed significantly to industry or to society.

History has proven that great new businesses often come from uncertain market environments like those that exist today.   On the other hand, tight credit markets, low investor confidence, limited exit opportunities, and reduced consumer spending are significantly increasing the challenges for both existing entrepreneurs and those considering new business ventures.

What is likely to happen?  What strategies can entrepreneurs pursue to survive this challenging environment?  What sectors are primed for success?  Who has money to invest?

Come to the 2009 Alumni Entrepreneur Conference to find out.
