Frank Muscarello is Chief Executive Officer at Vision Point of Sale Inc. Established in 1993 and based in Glenview, IL, Vision POS helps companies extend the life of their IT investments with innovative products and services that maximize the useful life of their infrastructure. Vision POS’ life cycle management services (certified pre-owned hardware, maintenance services, and project management services) are designed to also assist organizations in maximizing their return on investment in any of the stages of organizational change.

Drawing on 15 years of leadership experience, Frank has achieved consistent annual growth and market strength at Vision POS through motivated leadership, oversight of integrated services, and sales. Frank has been recognized for providing visionary management and leading brand enhancing initiatives to build one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America. Vision POS was named Fastest Growing Private Company in 2008 by Inc. Magazine. Vision POS was also named Fastest Growing Technology Company four times in a row by Deloitte and Touche.

Frank is a member of Maryville Academy Board of Directors, Kellogg Circle of Leadership, Circle of Corporate Champions at Children’s Memorial Hospital and Vistage group. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a BA in Marketing and International Business. He is also a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with a Masters in Business Administration.

Barry Merkin

Professor of Entrepreneurship


Professor Barry Merkin joined the Kellogg faculty in 1993. Professor Merkin teaches entrepreneurship courses in both the MBA and Executive Management Programs. He has been faculty advisor to four Kellogg teams in the MOOT CORP Business Plan Competitions; all teams were finalists and one was the World Champion. He has been the faculty advisor on Kellogg student GIM trips to China, Chile, Peru and Argentina.

He has served as educational director for six World Presidents’ Institutes at Kellogg. At the Ernst & Young 2000 Entrepreneur of the Year ceremonies, he received the Supporter of Entrepreneurship Award Prior to his faculty position, Professor Merkin had 30 years of business experience, the most recent 10 years as Chairman and CEO of Dresher, Inc. The company progressed quickly to public ownership and a New York Stock Exchange listing and was three times named one of the “Best Small Companies in America” by both Business Week and Forbes, as determined by its three to five year growth record in sales, earnings and return on equity.

Prior to Dresher, Professor Merkin was President and Director of Charter Communications, President and Director of Pan American Paper Bag Company and President of Procon Pump Company. Professor Merkin has served on numerous boards, including Follett Corporation, Transmedia (NYSE), Barker Bros, Bruener Furniture, DuoDesign, All-Phase Electric and VOCA.

His professional activities have included the Young Presidents’, American Furniture Manufacturers Association. Other directorships have included the Institute of Laryngology and Voice Restoration-Harvard Medical School Chicago World Presidents’ Organization, American Association of Entrepreneurs, Boys Clubs, Eagle Scouts, Chicago Harvard Business School Club, Chicago Crime Commission, National Conference of Christian and Jews (Silver Plaque Award Recipient) and the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Cancer Institute.

He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA degree from Brown University.

Lisa Wilson '02

Lisa A. Wilson is co-founder and COO of the Mentoring Center, Inc. Prior to co-founding the Mentoring Center, Wilson held senior management positions with 3Com and US Robotics Corporations. She began her career as an engineer with Eaton Corporation. Wilson is also interim director of the Day Labor Works program at the Lake Worth Resource Center; a collaborative effort of 15 public, private, local and national partners, led by the Mentoring Center.

Wilson’s recent “Hire One Worker for One Week” initiative received national attention from MSNBC and USA Today’s and “Most Popular Story” from Channel 25 News for its unprecedented, bold approach to motivating residents and businesses to hire their unemployed neighbors for at least one week in an effort to help a struggling family and stimulate the local economy. Florida Governor Charlie Crist recognized Wilson’s initiative stating “your commitment to excellence and your dedication to helping people in your community are admirable,” (March 12, 2009).

Wilson is a member of Leadership Palm Beach County, the League of Cities, and the National Black MBA Association and has enjoyed more than twenty-five years with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Wilson has had the privilege of being recognized by the Palm Beach Neighborhood Post (Feb. 2009), T.H.E. Journal: Transforming Education Through Technology magazine (Nov. 2008), Kellogg World magazine (2006), FLDOE K-12 Conference (2007), and Miami/Dade Chamber of Commerce Network Miami magazine as one of South Florida’s Most Prominent and Successful Black Business Women (2005).

Wilson earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a BS in Physics from Clark College, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Sunil Hirani '94

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder


Mr. Hirani co-founded Creditex in April 1999 and sold Creditex to ICE in August 2008. Creditex has grown into a global market leader and innovator in the execution and processing of credit derivatives. Creditex is the first and leading e-trading platform in credit derivatives. It has received numerous awards for its technology platform, innovation and service in the industry. He joined ICE in August of 2008 when ICE acquired Creditex Group, Inc. (“Creditex”) and was instrumental in ICE’s strategy to acquire The Clearing Corporation and the launch of the first credit derivatives clearing house which has been called for by global regulators and governments.

Before he founded Creditex, Mr. Hirani worked at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust where he was involved with numerous aspects of the OTC derivatives business. He was instrumental in the credit derivatives business in North America at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that he worked for Lockheed as a software engineer designer, where he designed, developed, and implemented software and hardware systems for NASA’s space program in Houston, Texas.

Crain’s New York Business named Sunil to the “40 Under 40” list in 2006. One year later, he became the recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award for financial services. Mr. Hirani also serves as a member of the national council at Washington University, St. Louis, where he serves as a member of the School of Engineering’s National Council and Eliot Society. He is also a member of New York Metro YPO Group and the Economic Club of New York.

Mr. Hirani graduated from Washington University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He received a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University in 1994.
