Kellogg
Greater China Business Conference
April 19th, 2008
Welcome to the Kellogg Greater China Business Conference of 2008. The
leadership team and I are all extremely excited to have the opportunity
to host this event, now in its second year, which will bring together
students, faculty and industry leaders to share their knowledge of and
interest in doing business in China.
This year, the theme for the conference is "One World: Removing
Barriers to Achieve Global Dreams." Increasingly the idea of one world
across countries and cultures is becoming a closer reality, and China's
involvement in this process is paramount. This is particularly
pertinent as an increasing number of global companies are entering
China, and Chinese companies are going global. We anticipate a more
globalized, "flat" world with fewer boundaries between China and other
nations. However, there are numerous boundaries still to overcome to
reach this global dream. This conference will provide a forum for
exploration into these legal, economic and cultural challenges and a
discussion of relevant strategies to overcome them through key
speakers, interactive panel discussions, and networking opportunities
throughout the day.
Kellogg has the unique opportunity to leverage its partnership with top
EMBA programs in Greater China to bring global leaders to campus to
share with you their real-world experience in management issues in
Greater China. Paired with the strength of Kellogg's outstanding
academic faculty, these leaders will offer unique perspectives on these
challenges as they relate to particularly timely topics such as China's
relationship with nearby Asian countries and the effect of the upcoming
Olympics.
We invite you to join us at the Kellogg School of Management James L.
Allen Center at Northwestern University on Saturday, April 19th, 2008.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference.
Sincerely,
Yen Chun Lin
Executive Chairman
