2012 Kellogg Africa Business Conference
On behalf of the Kellogg School of Management Africa Business Club, we cordially invite you to join us for the 2012 Kellogg Africa Business Conference. This year we will host H. E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria and David Bruce Wharton, United States Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of African Affairs, as our morning and afternoon keynotes respectively. We are elated to welcome our distinguished guests and panelists as they each share their perspectives on the most critical elements necessary to further Africa’s development. After decades of anemic economic expansion, Africa is now following in the footsteps of the world’s other emerging economies. It is home to millions of motivated entrepreneurs, a burgeoning middle-class of consumers and a skilled workforce with favorable demographics. Innovators have advanced booming new enterprises bolstered by the population’s growing enthusiasm for technology. Legislators have grown increasingly innovative in their resolve to cultivate growth and investment while striving to preserve the rights of the least among their nations. Investors have reexamined opportunities, to the discovery of potent returns. Africa has finally arrived, but merely begun.
Our goal is to advance the discussion of economic development in Africa from strategic methodology to tactical implementation. Our theme, Unlocking Africa’s Potential: Defining the Next Steps, was designed to capture this goal. It is our sincere desire to ensure that attendees leave with a concrete set of action-oriented recommendations that will enable them to take part in the emergence of one of the world’s fastest growing economic regions. Please join us as we endeavor to unlock Africa’s potential one step at a time, and seek big answers through bold collaboration and brave thought.
We look forward to meeting you at the conference! Kind Regards,
2012 Africa Business Club Co-Presidents
