Applications for fall 2010 admission to the Managerial Analytics Certificate Program will be due on Monday, February 22, 2010.

Prerequisites for the Managerial Analytics Certificate
Students interested in applying for the Managerial Analytics Certificate must take prerequisite courses in five academic areas: calculus and linear algebra, probability, econometrics, microeconomics, and optimization. Both WCAS and McCormick offer most of these courses, and students may take their prerequisite courses in either or both schools.

While not all students follow the same path to fulfill the prerequisites, many take the calculus and linear algebra prerequisite courses during their freshman year, and the probability, econometrics/statistics, and optimization prerequisites during their sophomore year. The microeconomics course may be taken in either the freshman or sophomore year.  Please note that  CPU prerequisite courses have their own prerequisites, and these are determined by the department offering them.

Applications are due during the winter quarter, although many successful applicants finish taking their prerequisites during the winter (and sometimes spring) term.  As a rule, admission decisions are based on winter quarter grades.  Students who are accepted into the program and are still taking prerequisite courses during the spring term must receive a “B” or better in those courses in order to enter the program in the fall.

There are many different ways to satisfy the CPU prerequisites, and the most common ones are listed in the chart below. Please check the Undergraduate Catalog or the appropriate department for more details about the prerequisite course required for CPU prerequisites.
