Fall 2009

New Employer Website

We are delighted to announce the launch of the newly redesigned Kellogg Career Management Center for Employers website on November 2, 2009. We hope you find our new site more visually pleasing and easier to navigate; our goal is to quickly direct to you to needed information.

  • Frequently requested documents are now accessible in a “Popular Downloads” section located on the homepage of the new employer site.
  • Drop-down menus and tab functionality have been added to the Employment Statistics, allowing you to easily switch between the same types of information for different class years.
  • The full time statistics for the Class of 2009 and the summer internship statistics for the Class of 2010 are now available on the new site! (The hard copy report will be available in late December).

We welcome any feedback you would like to send us on your experience with the new site.

Can’t Make it to Campus? How to Connect Using Alternate Methods

With the understanding that budgeting issues may have required many companies to cut back on travel and recruiting, the Kellogg School of Management offers many options for employers who cannot come to Evanston for an on-campus interview schedule.

  • Video conferencing can be an effective and efficient method for companies to interview job candidates without the time and expense of travel. Our facility uses both ISDN and IP connections. Typically, we prefer that video conferences are conducted during office hours; however, we will do our best to accommodate the needs of employers in different time zones. Please contact an Industry Relationship Manager to coordinate your video conference.
  • We offer a free job posting board, the Kellogg Career Network (KCN), where companies can post their opportunities to current students and alumni. You can choose how you would like to receive applications: resume collection, e-mail, or website. To post your position simultaneously on multiple top MBA programs’ job boards, you may select the “Multi-Post” option.
  • If you would like to be proactive in reaching out to candidates, we recommend our Resume Databases. This allows you to search for individual students based on criteria you select, including geography, function, industry, language skills, keywords and more. You can also e-mail and keep notes on candidates through the database. We currently have two Resumes Databases available – the Class of 2010 Full Time Resume Database and the Alumni Resume Database. The Class of 2011 Internship Resume Database will be available in mid-November.

Connect Online with MBA Global Career Forum

Upcoming Offer Deadlines

Though we are still in the middle of full-time on campus interviews, please be aware of the upcoming offer decision deadlines for second year (Class of 2010) students:

  • If the offer is from the student’s summer intern employer from an internship that was obtained through the on-campus recruiting process, the student must be given until December 1, 2009, or three weeks, whichever is longer to accept or reject the offer. Students may accept an offer before December 1st if they so desire; however, they cannot be obligated to respond sooner.
  • For all other offers, the student must be given until January 15, 2010, or three weeks, whichever is longer to accept or reject the offer. Students may accept an offer before January 15th if they so desire; however, they cannot be obligated to respond sooner.
The student body will be notified of employers who choose not to respect these guidelines.

H1N1 and On-Campus Interviews

In an effort to protect the health of our corporate partners and visitors to Kellogg, the following precautions are being taken during the on-campus recruiting season:

  • These items in the recruiting rooms are being sanitized each evening with germicidal wipes:
    • Door handles
    • Chair arms
    • Table surfaces
    • Phones
    • Coat hangers

To facilitate student compliance with CDC recommendations on self-isolation, we would ask that when possible, recruiters be open to conducting phone interviews with candidates unable to come to campus due to illness.

  • Hand sanitizer and facial tissues are provided in each interview room and in common areas.
  • Students are being urged to stay home if they are displaying flu-like symptoms.
