Biotechnology at Kellogg

Those aspiring to become leaders in biotechnology must understand the interplay of technology, innovation, finance, management, regulatory and public issues that define the life science industry.

The Kellogg Center for Biotechnology Management offers a balance of hands-on experience through projects with top biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, Courses in the biotech track such as marketing of biomedical products, marketing of technology, valuations, intellectual property management, regulatory and public issues provide the tools, frameworks and practical experience needed to become leaders in the industry. The center also offers programs on innovative leadership for exeutives in the biomedical industry.

The Biotechnology track provides a strong and broad foundation to excel in a broad range of leadership positions in the life science industry, including business development, marketing, product development, corporate development, consulting, banking and venture capital.

 
News & Announcements
Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are scheduled on May 4 to serve as co-keynote speakers at the 2010 BIO International Convention in Chicago. Former Vice President Al Gore is also expected to deliver a keynote speech on May 5 at the three-day conference, which is expected to attract more than 15,000 industry executives. Read more
NeuRDS Inc., Revolutionizing Wireless Technology in Medical Devices
NeuRDS Inc. is a medical device component company that began as part of the NUvention course at Northwestern University. It evolved from the experiential medical innovation course where students from four of Northwestern’s graduateschools- Feinberg School of Medicine, McCormick School of Engineering, Kellogg School of Management, and Northwestern School of Law work together in groups to deliver a prototype that would have a medical impact. The company has won or been a finalist in various startup competitions and has completed its first stock offering with more than 30 shareholders. Read more
The center welcomes visiting scholar Raine Hermans, Director of Regional Operations at Tekes, Finland. An economist by training, Raine will spend Summer 2009 studying the economic impact of biopharmaceutical industry in Illinois.
