Interviewing
Alumni
interviewers play an invaluable role in ensuring that Kellogg
continues to admit the quality students that you enjoyed working
with during your time here. In 2002-2003, the Alumni
Admissions Organization (AAO) interviewers conducted
4,532 interviews -- 71% of all Admissions interviews.
Purpose
of the Alumni Admissions Organization
The purpose of alumni contact with prospective students is
to aid the Office of Admissions in:
- Conducting
evaluative interviews of candidates who are unable to visit
campus.
- Stimulating
interest in Kellogg by providing updated information about
its programs to prospective students.
- Helping
the Admissions Committee identify prospective students whose
personalities, needs, and motivations are well suited for
Kellogg student life.
- Promoting
the advantages of a Kellogg education and enhancing our
reputation through personal accomplishments.
- Increasing
the yield of accepted applicants.
Purpose
of the Alumni Interview
The Admissions Committee requires an applicant to conduct
an evaluative personal interview with a member of the Admissions
Staff or with an official Alumni Admissions Organization member.
The interview is invaluable in assessing an applicant's general
management knowledge, level of maturity, interpersonal skills,
and career direction -- qualities that the Committee considers
essential to a successful career at Kellogg. In addition,
personal interviews with recent alumni allow prospective students
to learn more about Kellogg from first-hand experiences. More
than 1,500 alumni throughout the world conduct evaluative
interviews, affording Kellogg's Admissions Office greater
geographic coverage and simplifying the interview process
for all applicants.
We
Need Your Help!
The demand for alumni interviews continues to rise, especially
outside of the United States, and we want to avoid overextending
our current alumni interviewers. We need your help! Please
help spread the word to other alumni who have graduated within
the last five years but who are not interviewers for Kellogg.
If you'd
like to join AAO, just submit the electronic sign-up form.
If you have questions or would like to receive a copy of the
interview evaluation form, please email the Admissions Office.
For the
most part, AAO members are relatively recent graduates of
Kellogg. The exception to this practice occurs in locations
where demand for interviews is higher or where there are fewer
alumni.
Thanks
for your interest and help!
