KACNY Dances with the Vampires
As ghouls
and goblins prepare to prowl the Halloween night, Kellogg
alumni gathered on Friday, October 25 to watch a preview of
the new Broadway musical Dance of the Vampires. The show stars
Michael Crawford (the original Phantom) in the newly renovated
Minskoff Theatre overlooking Times Square. The production's
music and lyrics are by Grammy award winner Jim Steinman with
the original German lyrics by Michael Kuntze, based on a film
by Roman Polanski. Our intrepid Kellogg alumni vampire observers
enjoyed comedic jokes, musical numbers set to familiar music
such as Total Eclipse of the Heart, and slight touches of
high drama and sensual overtones reminiscent of Bram Stroker's
Dracula (1992). Elaborate sets impressed selected NY alumni
in attendance such as: Chris Jogis '94, Melinda Graham '97,
Greg Singer '97, Philippe Meyersohn '98, Kristopher Zdyb '98,
Gina Bokios '99, Eric Goldberg '00, Manthos Kallios '00, Elaine
Co '01 and Lisa Mazzocato '01. Special thanks to KACNY treasurer
Leonard Chan ‘00 for trying to culture us and to Manthos
Kallios for being our photographer.

KACNY Gathers to Hear WSJ Executive
KACNY
members gathered on a night in October at a private New York
club to participate in a Fireside Chat with Steve Goldstein,
former chief communications officer of Dow Jones & Co.
and The Wall Street Journal. The discussion centered around
Steve’s integral involvement in the highly publicized
Daniel Pearl case, as well as 9/11 and the re-launch of The
Wall Street Journal. Members of the Medill Club of Greater
New York joined Kellogg for this exciting event. All in attendance
were thoroughly enthralled with Steve’s stories and
experiences. Attendees included Joseph DeBono ’97, Doug
Bell ’89, Don Allison ’73, Sandra Rupp ‘90,
Kurt Ryden ’95, John Forster ’83, among many others.
KACNY president Dan Williams ’99 planned this event,
with special thanks to WSJ reporter Kemba Dunham for introducing
KACNY to Steve, and to Lauren Young of Medill for including
Medill in this wonderful event.
