KACNY and U of C GSB Club of New York Celebrate Top BusinessWeek
and Economist Rankings
Over 80
Kellogg and U of C GSB alumni gathered on November 4th at
the Uno’s Pizzeria located at New York’s South
Street Seaport to celebrate Kellogg’s #1 ranking in
the BusinessWeek survey and #1 ranking in The Economist survey
(as well as to celebrate Chicago’s rankings in the two
surveys). The event was titled: “Chicago Means Business--Chicago
in New York: Chicago’s B-Schools Top the BusinessWeek
and Economist rankings”. We were honored by the attendance
of former associate dean for master’s degree programs
and student affairs Ed Wilson who traveled to the event from
South Carolina via Chicago to represent Kellogg’s faculty,
students and staff. The event was a huge success and all in
attendance were thrilled with Kellogg’s well-deserved
#1 ranking in both BusinessWeek and The Economist. Those in
attendance included: Doug Bell ’89, Javed Rahman ’97,
Joe DeBono ’97, Melinda Graham ‘97, Gina Bokios
‘99, Paola Alvarez ’02, Chris Stala ‘92,
Manthos Kallios ’00, Leonard Chan ’00, Dan Williams
’99, Sandra Rupp ‘90, and Dennis Chen ’95,
among others. A special surprise was in store as Dan Williams,
KACNY’s president, read a special message commemorating
the rankings and the New York event from Chicago’s Mayor
Richard M. Daley (see attached
(pdf 43kb / 1 page)).
Special
thanks to Dan Williams ’99 for coordinating the event
and Doug Bell ’89 for helping on some important logistics.
