Doron Abosch Scholarship 4th Annual Wine Tasting
On Monday,
July 21st, alumni met in the back room of the Opal Bar for
the Doron Abosch Scholarship 4th Annual Wine Tasting event.
Other than being a great opportunity to catch up with old
friends....make new friends....and taste a great selection
of wines, the event gave us an opportunity to present the
Doron Abosch Memorial Scholarship Award. The Club's scholarship
fund is named for the late Doron Abosch who graduated from
NU in 1986 and was responsible for starting the Young Alumni
Club in New York. After a battle with cancer, Doron passed
away in 1991. In his memory the NY Alumni board members started
a memorial scholarship award that each year is given to an
outstanding Northwestern junior from the New York area who
is receiving financial aid. |

New York Philharmonic in Central Park
As it
has almost become an annual tradition by now, the Kellogg
Alumni Club of New York organized a night out with the New
York Philharmonic at Central Park. We enjoyed a masterful
performance under the stars, picnicking with our classmates
and sipping on fine wine. |

KACNY Hosts Fourth Multi-School MBA Happy Hour
Kellogg
alumni gathered on a hot, steamy sunny evening in early July
at the Boat Basin Café overlooking the Hudson River
(underneath the West Side Highway) in Manhattan for a happy
hour organized by KACNY and including alumni from the Columbia,
Chicago GSB, Haas (Berkeley), Fuqua (Duke), Carnegie-Mellon,
Haas (Berkeley), Zicklin (Baruch), Owen (Vanderbilt), London
Business School, Kelley (Indiana), Moore (University of South
Carolina), ESSEC, Fordham, and Thunderbird schools of business,
Sciences PO alumni as well as members of Beta Gamma Sigma
at our Fourth Multi-School MBA Happy Hour. Almost four hundred
people enjoyed cocktails and lively discussion with new friends
and old while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets in
New York this summer. This was the fourth event of its kind
in the New York area, both initiated and run by KACNY.
As in
the past, the party was such a hit that crashers came from
Harvard, Wharton (University of Pennsylvania), Stern (NYU),
McDonough (Georgetown), Stanford, and Sloan (MIT). Feedback
from all in attendance was extremely positive, so look for
another similar event in August. Special thanks to Dan Williams
’99 for planning this event.
