MBA Programs Apply
The Kellogg School of Management has a Full-Time MBA option
tailored to your needs, interests and business experience.
Whichever program you choose, you are assured of an unparalleled
education led by our award-winning faculty, and you will
be immersed in the distinctive Kellogg culture of innovation
and collaboration.
Students in these programs are 28 years
of age on average and have a diverse range of full-time
work experience and backgrounds. Like our 2Y students,
applicants to the accelerated or dual-degree full-time
programs (1Y, MMM,
JD-MBA, MD-MBA)
are expected to have exceptional quantitative skills.
A one-credit global course requirement
provides a formal framework, through approved courses
or exchange programs, for integrating global management
and leadership issues.
Two-Year
(2Y) MBA
-
Schedule: Begins in September, students
complete an internship the following summer then graduate
the next June, in a total of six academic quarters of
classes.
-
Credits:
Minimum 24.5 course units and six quarters of registration
are required for graduation. Students typically take
four courses in each of the six quarters they are enrolled.
-
Distinctive
Factor: Offers the greatest flexibility to
explore new areas of interest and develop solid management
and leadership skills.
-
Schedule: Starts in June and finishes
in June of the following year. After the summer quarter,
1Y students are integrated into the second-year class
of 2Y students.
-
Credits:
Minimum 15.5 course units and four quarters of registration
are required for graduation.
-
Distinctive Factor: Accelerated program
enables students with clear career goals, linked with
their professional experience, to return to the workforce
quickly. Applicants are required to have completed requisite
coursework through either undergraduate or graduate
studies, so that 1Y students may complete one quarter
of required courses and three quarters of electives
for the MBA.
-
Schedule: Same schedule as the 2Y Program,
with some overlap of courses and group interactions.
-
Credits: Minimum 24.5 credits and six
quarters of registration are required for graduation.
Courses come from required MBA courses (7.5 credits),
core MEM requirements (3.5 credits), Integration Project
(or equivalent: 1 credit), MEM major requirements (4
credits for each major), and 8.5 credits of unrestricted
electives.
-
Distinctive Factor: Integrates management,
operations and design elements in a joint-degree program
taught by Kellogg and Northwestern University’s
engineering school, McCormick.
MMM students earn the master of business administration
(MBA) and the master of engineering management (MEM).
-
Schedule:
Begins with a full year of study at Northwestern University’s
School
of Law, including the summer, followed by three
academic quarters at Kellogg then a summer internship
in law and/or business, and the final year of coursework
at the School of Law.
-
Credits: Both degrees are awarded upon
successful completion of 16 managerial course units
and 72 hours of law course work.
-
Distinctive
Factor: Students earn the juris doctor (JD)
and the master of business administration (MBA). Students
apply only to Kellogg; both schools review the application.
The GMAT is required but not the LSAT.
-
Schedule: After completing three years
of medical school, students accepted to the MD-MBA Program
enroll full-time at Kellogg (Evanston campus) during
the fourth year. During the fifth year, students complete
their course work at Kellogg as well as their medical
training at Feinberg. Students are required to take
a minimum of eighteen courses through Kellogg, including
all the core courses.
-
Credits: Complete 18 managerial courses
within four quarters of study, including all core courses,
and 12 quarters of the required medical school curriculum.
-
Distinctive
Factor: Complete courses for both degrees in
five years instead of the usual six, earning an MD from
the Feinberg
School of Medicine at Northwestern University and
an MBA from Kellogg. Students already enrolled in one
of the schools may apply for admission to the other
during the first year at the Kellogg School or the third
year at the school of medicine.
