The
Carol and Larry Levy Social Entrepreneurship Lab
Activities
Social
Entrepreneurship Competition
The goal of the Social Entrepreneurship Competition is to
inspire students to think about social problems and ways to
address these problems that leverage best business practices
in new and creative ways across all leadership sectors: non-profit,
public and for-profit. The competition will provide students
the opportunity to conceive new social ventures and get expert
feedback on their plans. Winners of the competition will be
given an audience with decision makers and have the opportunity
to see their ideas brought to fruition. Read about the first Levy Social Entrepreneurship Lab competition in partnership with the CHEST Foundation.
Student
Conferences
Student conferences will foster interactions with students,
academics, and practitioners and gain exposure to the latest
thinking in the field of social responsibility. Such student conferences include the Innovating Social Change (ISC) Conference.
Experiential
student initiatives and activities
Activities include Kellogg
Corps, GIM
projects, Summer internships and Fellowships
Speaker
Series
The Social Entrepreneurship Lab will invite leaders of social
change each year to address the Kellogg community. The objective
of this speaker series is to inspire students to take positive
action, to become aware of the challenges they are likely
to face in bringing about social change, to learn from the
experiences of speakers and to engage in discussions that
will broaden their perspectives.
Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Program
The Entrepreneur-in-Residence program will bring world class
leaders in social enterprise and social entrepreneurship to
Kellogg and allow students to spend a few days talking with
the entire Kellogg community.
Social
Entrepreneurship Internship and Fellowship Program
The Social Entrepreneurship Lab will provide support for
student projects in nonprofit or public organizations through
fellowships or through summer
internship programs. Both, fellowships and internships
can be obtained through independent job searches. The Career
Management Center, the Center
for Nonprofit Management and the Net Impact Club are all good resources. All three publish
lists of potential job opportunities. For more information,
please consult their Web sites.
