Dean Jain announces Kellogg School will host 2006 Net Impact Conference

August 18, 2006

Dear Faculty and Staff:

I am pleased to announce that the Kellogg School of Management will host the 2006 Net Impact Conference October 27th-29th. The event, which has "Navigating Global Change" as this year's theme, is the largest annual gathering in the world for MBA students and young professionals focused on corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, international development, and nonprofit and environmental management. Dozens of Kellogg School students are taking an active leadership role in conference planning and organization. With a series of thought-provoking and dynamic speakers and industry leaders, this event will highlight the Kellogg School's commitment to educating socially responsible global business leaders.

In all, the conference will feature more than 80 panels divided between the student and professional curriculum tracks. Topics include Business and the Environment, Community Development, Business and Social Responsibility, Leadership and Career Development, Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility. Among the keynote speakers are Barry Salzberg, Managing Director of Deloitte & Touche USA, Andrew Lock, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Herman Miller, and Maria Otero, President and CEO of ACCION International. Other confirmed speakers include Bobbi Silten, Chief Foundation Officer of Gap, Inc; John Wood, Founder and CEO of Room to Read (KSM '98); and Sheryl O'Loughlin, CEO of Clif Bar, Inc. (KSM '94).

I encourage you to join me and our own students in welcoming the global audience of MBA students and distinguished guests who will be visiting our campus. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Fran Langewisch. In addition, if you would like more information on the event please visit the Net Impact Web site.

Warmest personal regards,
