The Kellogg School’s first Gap Inc. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scholar is named

The Kellogg School of Management along with the SEEK Program and the Social Impact Club is excited to announce Peter Siu ’07 as the Kellogg School’s first Gap Inc. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scholar.

Supported by the Gap Foundation, the Gap Inc. CSR Scholars Program is a unique fellowship opportunity that supports a Kellogg School student in the Full-Time MBA program who demonstrates a commitment to the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in his/her professional and educational pursuits.

Benefits:

  • Financial – receives $10,000 tuition support over 2 years ($5,000 per year)
  • Educational – Leadership opportunities by completing an independent CSR study and presenting to Gap Inc. management. Furthermore, the students will visit factory sites with Gap Vendor Compliance Officers.
  • Networking – Interaction with the Gap Inc. CSR team, Gap Inc. management, and fellow Gap Inc. CSR Scholars at the Haas and Columbia Business Schools via conference calls and in person.

The evaluation committee comprised of representatives from both the Kellogg School and Gap Inc. evaluated the large group of competitive candidates on how well they distinguished themselves by their professional and personal goals, as well as their involvement at school and their interest in corporate social responsibility.

During his time at the Kellogg School, Peter will conduct an independent CSR study, learn about Gap’s perspectives on CSR, and promote CSR topics at the Kellogg School. He will also have the opportunity to work with Gap CSR employees and other Gap Scholars at the Haas School of Business and Columbia Business School.
