What
attracted you to courses relating to CSR, social responsibility
or nonprofit management?
I led
nonprofit organizations before applying to Kellogg. I wanted
to improve my management skills and determine if I wanted
to change course in my career.
What
attracted you to the Public Non Profit (PNP) Club, Students
for Responsible Business (SRB) Club or Social Impact Club
(SIC)?
The
networking among students of similar interests.
What
value did you get from your experiences in courses relating
to CSR, social responsibility or nonprofit management at Kellogg?
The
knowledge and credibility gained through a Kellogg MBA has
been invaluable in my career as a nonprofit professional.
It has helped me through the several transitions in my career
in cultural, social service and association leadership.
How
have those experiences been helpful to you in your daily life,
both professionally and personally?
I have
used my experience in other parts of my life such as consulting
on organizational development, fundraising, working on the
vestry of a church, political campaigns and mentoring high
potential professionals.
What
is the name of your current organization, and what does your
organization do?
The
Project Management Institute is a professional association
for project managers and project, program and portfolio
management worldwide.
Please
briefly describe your position or role at your organization.
I am
the Director of Member and Organizational Relations. My
responsibilities include participating on the Executive
Management Group providing strategy for a $100M organization;
managing a $35M P&L marketing the organization to a
growing membership of more than 240,000 in 160 countries;
community development among our 300 chapters, special interest
groups and "colleges" in every region of the world;
strategic account management with the business and government
employers of our membership; handling government relations
and supervising a staff of 25 including offices in Washington,
D.C., Brussels, Singapore, Beijing and India.
How
are you applying the skills/knowledge you learned at Kellogg
in your career?
Everyday
in every way.
