The International Business & Markets Program (IBMP) represents a high-profile effort by the Kellogg School of Management to expand the school's academic leadership globally. A strong, discipline-based international business program is an important part of bringing the Kellogg School name to the attention of the business community everywhere. The program reflects a part of Dean Jain's vision of the Kellogg School as a global business school.

The centerpiece of IBMP is the International Business major, which provides students with the specialized tools in accounting, finance, marketing, organizations management and management strategy necessary to understand the international dimension of business. The major also allows students to combine a grounding in international business strategy with real-world research experience abroad, through the popular Global Initiatives in Management course. Another strength of IBMP is its dynamic relationship with the Kellogg School's many international student clubs and conferences.

IBMP also serves as the home for another important Kellogg School global initiative: the International Exchange Program. The exchange program began in 1980 and has continued its mission of preparing Kellogg School students for leadership in the global business environment.

An important component of the IBMP is its International Business & Markets Research Center, which brings leading international business scholars to the Kellogg School to disseminate the latest research. The center's mission is to promote research through working papers, conferences, and partnerships with researchers at leading universities around the world. By structuring IBMP along discipline-based lines, the program draws contributions from the many distinguished Kellogg School faculty with expertise in international economics, finance, management, accounting and marketing.
