The National
Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) establishes Health
Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS) criteria that
are used in evaluating health plans. NCQA's State of Managed
Care Quality 2000 Report released in September 2000 is available
on the Web site and represents information from 466 health
plans that cover some 51 million people.
The Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
Web site contains links to other healthcare Web sites. These
links include U.S. healthcare associations and societies,
US government healthcare agencies, state healthcare organizations
and societies, international organizations, condition &
illness related organization, comprehensive medical references
& societies, consumer healthcare organizations & information
sources, and JCAHO satellite network.
Foundation
for Accountability (FACCT) is an alliance of healthcare
purchasers and consumers that will endorse, advocate, and
promote a common set of patient-oriented measures of healthcare
quality. FACCT's objective is "those who buy and receive health
care will take the lead in mapping a course for an accountable
health system."
