There are thousands of Web sites for healthcare information, and a significant portion of the contents in many of these web sites is from the U. S. National Library of Medicine's Medline plus Health Information. The Home Page for Medline plus Health Information provides many options: health topics, drug information, dictionaries, directories, other resources, and featured site.

Canadian Health Network (CHN) is a national, bilingual Internet-based health information service.

Aetna U.S. Healthcare and Johns Hopkins established InteliHealth to provide free health e-mail, a free health newsletter, a medical dictionary, an Ask-the-Doctor column, and a wealth of general health information on common diseases and conditions.

A health reference service is offered by the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. This site, called "HealthLinks," serves to connect people with knowledge in the health sciences at the University of Washington.

Pacific Business Group on Health offers PBGH California Consumer HealthScope to help consumers select the best quality health plans, hospitals, and medical groups.

The Commonwealth Fund provides current information on Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare issues.

Kaiser Commission on Medicaid provides an overview of selected healthcare programs.
