Private Equity Internship Program (PEIP)

Host Company Information

Lists of past hosts:

The profile of host companies varies greatly by industry focus, fund size, culture, and number of employees. There is no one criteria that qualifies a firm to be in the program. We welcome firms from all over the U.S. What is important to the program is that the host company offers students an experiential learning opportunity- one that informs them in such a way that it influences their future career decisions.

Students begin the full-time internship on June 16, 2008, with the full expectation of meeting demanding schedules set by the supervising partner. Concurrent with their day to day work, students meet two- to three-times during the summer with Professor Derrick Collins, who teaches a finance course on Private Equity at Kellogg. Students complete a mid-term report after the fifth week and an oral report in the early Fall term.

Kellogg students have incredible personal resources, energy, aptitude and desire to make the most of every moment. Often cited as being "over achievers", Kellogg students have in the past proved to be valuable resources for host companies. Companies that fail to recognize these resources find that the projects they prepared will be completed in half the time and twice the quality, leaving the student-intern asking for more.

Host companies pay a minimum of 50% of the $1,000 weekly stipend ($500), which comes to a minimum obligation of $4,000 for the eight weeks of full-time internship. Payment is made to Kellogg rather than to the student. We expect you will be extremely satisfied. Click below to apply.

For private equity firms: Apply to host an intern for the period of 06/16/08 - 08/08/08
