Entrepreneur-In-Residence
Program
General
Information
The
Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice has developed
a program for Kellogg students sincerely interested in entrepreneurship
to learn from experienced entrepreneurs in a personable one-on-one
session. For five to eight weeks each quarter, an entrepreneur
will be invited to spend an entire day meeting with students
in 30-minute sessions to answer questions and to provide advice.

up to participate in the Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program
E-I-Rs
include experienced entrepreneurs and
principal investors selected by the Larry and Carol Levy Institute
for Entrepreneurial Practice.
This program
allows students to ask an expert any question about
entrepreneurship in a confidential setting, such that it will
enhance the student's knowledge of entrepreneurship and increase
his/her chance for business success. Meetings are conducted
in accordance with the Rules of Engagement.
Students
request appointments using Meeting Maker and Outlook meeting
requests with The Levy Institute. Students may meet with the E-I-R one-on-one
or with a team of fellow students. Students prepare questions
for the E-I-R to review in advance of the meeting. Students
can meet with more than one E-I-R during the year. If a student
misses an appointment without properly following the cancellation
guidelines, the student is permanently prohibited from
visiting with a E-I-R.
Students
that attend these meetings receive multiple benefits:
- Customized,
tailored feedback on the students' venture or concept
- An
experienced view of entrepreneurship challenges already
overcome by the E-I-R
- A point-of-time
by which to organize the most salient questions relating
to the venture or aspirations to be an entrepreneur
- Confidential
answers to questions
- Potential
networking benefits
- Potential
relationship with the E-I-R
E-I-Rs
that participate receive the following benefits:
- The
opportunity to favorably impact the next generation of entrepreneurs
- Challenging
problems to solve using a set of analytical and interpersonal
skills
- Picture
into current interests and trends among leading business
students
- Potential
relationships with students that are practicing entrepreneurs,
many of whom are operating their business and attending
Kellogg part-time or the Executive Management Program
- Additional
time with Kellogg faculty on campus
- A creative
and different way to have speaking opportunities on campus,
possibly leading to additional invitations by clubs and
alumni events.
