We understand that for some of you the decision to come to business school is not only an individual decision, but one you may be making jointly with a spouse or partner. Recently, we have had a number of questions from applicants who are applying with their spouse or partner, so I figured this would be a great point to talk about on our blog! I’ve addressed the most commonly asked questions below:
- Where do I indicate that I am applying with my spouse/partner?
Although, we don’t specifically ask for this information, you may indicate this in the Additional Information essay provided at the end of the application.
- Will our applications be reviewed together?
Each application is reviewed and rendered a decision based on its own merits. Applications are not considered together.
- Will my spouse/partner and I be notified of our decisions on the same day?
If you indicate that you are applying with a spouse/partner we will make an effort to release the decisions as close together as possible. We cannot guarantee that this will be the case given the number of different components that go into each application.
- If I get in and my spouse does not, will you reconsider his or her application?
No, once a decision is rendered it is a final decision and his or her application will not be reconsidered.
Thanks for reading! In case you missed the Business Week chat with Beth Flye, the Director of Admissions, you may read the transcript here.
Have a great weekend!!
