While many of us are preparing for the upcoming Holiday season, there is a flurry of activity in the Office of Admissions. December brings many student led events across the globe and we are fortunate to have students that are excited to share their Kellogg experience while on break! Students will be hosting Ambassador events and Women’s Business Association chats in 35 cities and countries; these events are wonderful ways to learn more about the Kellogg student experience from our experts.

The Admission’s team has also just completed releasing decisions to Round One applicants. Once again this year, we’ve had a very competitive pool of applications. For those applicants that received a waitlist decision, this can be a frustrating time. Therefore, I thought it might be helpful to make a few suggestions to help you navigate the waitlist process. Kellogg assigns every waitlisted applicant an Admissions Office contact. We recommend that you reach out to our team in the New Year, should you have questions. We do not provide feedback to those on the waitlist but if there is anything we wish to discuss with you, or if there is additional information we would like to receive, we will let you know during this conversation. For many of you, we will not need additional information and we recommend you follow the Officer’s advice regarding additional documents. Please do not submit additional letters of recommendation. Additional visits to Kellogg are not necessary and will not play a role in the decision making process. In fact, Officer’s will not meet with candidates on the waitlist should they visit Kellogg. Should you have questions or concerns, it’s best to call and speak with your Admission’s Office contact.

Waitlist decisions will be made on an ongoing basis and we have identified several key dates when decisions have been made. If you hear no news from Kellogg on these days, this means you remain on the waitlist and are still in consideration.

There is likely a flurry of activity for many of you completing your application for the January Round Two deadline. Best of luck to you!

Our office wishes all of you the very best in the New Year.
