Leadership at Kellogg

posted: 10-04-09

My long term goal is to expand the family business, and with this goal in mind I felt that in addition to the academic background in Finance, Marketing and International Business that I looked to obtain from an MBA, I wanted to round up my leadership skills and learn how to become an effective manager. An MBA is meant to be the best “playground” to exercise leadership in a safe environment. At Kellogg the culture of participation/collaboration that is rooted pretty much in everything we do, allows for many opportunities to test and learn leadership skills. I have personally been involved with the EBC, and collaborated with admissions to strengthen the alumni network and the admissions process in Spain. This was a personal initiative that proves that Kellogg is an MBA for “self-starters”, nothing is going to come given or done, instead you learn how to recognize opportunities and how to take them. The school will support you in those projects that will contribute to your personal development and growth as a leader, as well as to your fellow class mates and future Kellogg students.
