Machine learning and artificial intelligence are disrupting industries in many ways, and leaders are starting to harness these technologies to give them a competitive advantage. In this session, attendees will learn how others have left the data crunching to computers in order to free up leadership time to focus on strategy, problem solving and creativity. Sanjeev Arora is a hands-on investor with a proven track record of building high-growth businesses, raising capital and delivering shareholder value across a variety of industry segments (software/telecom/ed tech). His current ventures are specifically in the areas of AI/machine learning. As an advisor to Prairie Capital, Arora led the TeacherMatch's products strategy, which created the industry’s first deep data driven predictive assessment and continuous reinforcement platform for educators. A National Merit Scholarship winner, Arora holds an M.S. in predictive analytics from Northwestern University and B.S. in engineering from IIT, India, and completed an internal fast-track MBA program at McKinsey.

Stuart Frankel CEO and Co-Founder, Narrative Science

Stuart Frankel is the CEO and co-founder of Narrative Science. He leads the company’s strategy and corporate vision, focusing on how customers can achieve better business outcomes by implementing artificial intelligence technologies. Prior to Narrative Science, Frankel was president of the Performics division of DoubleClick until the company was sold to Google. He was also a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015 and 2016 and named to Crain’s Chicago Business 2015 Tech 50 List. Frankel is a regular contributor to industry discussion related to the future of work, technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

Canh Tran '93 CEO and Co-Founder, Rippleshot

Canh Tran has more than 25 years of experience focused on machine learning, big data and predictive analytics. Throughout his career, Canh has worked with large-scale data such as payments, card transactions and credit information to solve real-time fraud and data breach problems. Canh is the co-founder and CEO of Rippleshot, a venture-backed machine learning fraud analytics platform for banks, credit unions and merchants. He has consulted for Booz Allen Hamilton, the International Monetary Fund and the French Embassy. Canh holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. from the University of Maryland.

Adam Waytz Associate Professor of Management and Organizations, Kellogg School of Management

Adam Waytz is an associate professor of management and organizations. His research uses methods from social psychology and cognitive neuroscience to study the causes and consequences of perceiving mental states in other agents and to investigate processes related to social influence, social connection, meaning-making and ethics. Professor Waytz's research has been published in leading journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Psychological Review. In recognition of his work, Professor Waytz received the 2008 and 2013 Theoretical Innovation Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, the SAGE Foundation Young Scholar Award, and the International Social Cognition Network's Early Career Award. Professor Waytz received his B.A. in psychology from Columbia University, his Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Chicago, and received a National Service Research Award from the National Institute of Health to complete a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University.
