    Kellogg ranks as the nation’s top business school in BusinessWeek’s inaugural rankings.

    1988: Read This
    MEDS Professor Ehud Kalai founds the journal Games and Economic Behavior.

    1988: A Boost for Entrepreneurs
    A gift from Mr. and Mrs. Edgar F. Heizer establishes the Heizer Center of Entrepreneurial Studies, consolidating the Kellogg School’s resources in entrepreneurship and creating important opportunities for students and practitioners.

    1989: Goals Reached
    The Campaign for Kellogg raises $40 million to bolster a variety of academic initiatives, including unrestricted support, faculty teaching and research support, and student financial aid.

    1989: Ever Larger
    Thanks to the financial support of H. Wendell Hobbs ’29 and Elinor Hobbs, the Hobbs Hall addition to the Allen Center opens.

    Kellogg dedicates the McManus Living/Learning Center, a large residence hall in Evanston that is home to many Kellogg students.

    MMM Program 1990: MMM Program Begins
    The Master of Management and Manufacturing (MMM) is launched, a joint-degree program between Kellogg and Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science.

    1990: No. 1 Again
    BusinessWeek again ranks Kellogg No. 1.

    1990: New Ventures in Finance
    Finance Professor Stuart Greenbaum publishes the Journal of Financial Intermediation.

    1991: A New No. 1
    BusinessWeek ranks the Kellogg School’s Executive Master’s Program No. 1. Applications for the full-time program exceed 5,000.

    1992: Still at the Top
    BusinessWeek ranks Kellogg No. 1 for the third time. Professor Daniel Spulber launches the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and a renovation of Wieboldt Hall is completed.

    1993: Expanding Again
    The second major expansion of the James L. Allen Center is completed.

    1994: More Expansion
    The first phase of Leverone Hall expansion begins.

    1995: Expansion, Part III
    The expansion of Leverone Hall is completed; Andersen Hall, which connects with Leverone, opens.

    GIM Vietnam 1996: Going Global
    Kellogg begins launching a series of international joint-degree executive MBA programs with partner schools in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Canada.
