The ITP Setting

Kellogg School of Management


Located on the western shores of Lake Michigan, a short drive from the world-class city of Chicago, the James L. Allen Center is the home of Kellogg Executive Education. In the heart of Northwestern University’s Evanston Campus, the Allen Center has been designed exclusively to support the School’s degree and non-degree executive offerings. Built to facilitate learning among faculty and participants, the Allen Center is completely self-contained with classrooms, study group rooms, 150 bedrooms, dining rooms, lounge areas, snack rooms, laundry service, and an exercise room. The goal is to create a special environment for learning that anticipates all educational needs.

A mecca for lovers of jazz, blues, delicious food, and diverse cultures, Chicago, Illinois is only a 30-minute ride from the Kellogg School of Management campus. Chicago is a dominant center of finance, industry and culture in the American Midwest. It is currently ranked as the third-most populous city in the United States and is home to the nation’s second busiest airport, O’Hare International. The city’s waterfront allure and nightlife has attracted residents and tourists alike. Sports fans can take in a professional basketball, baseball, football, hockey, or soccer game.
The city has many upscale dining establishments as well as many ethnic restaurant districts including “Greektown,” “Little Italy,” and “Chinatown.”

Chicago’s cultural and entertainment options include improvisational theatre, Broadway-style theatre, classical music, ballet, and a lot of live music including Chicago blues, soul, and jazz. Upscale shopping along the Magnificent Mile, thousands of restaurants, as well as Chicago’s eminent architecture, continues to draw tourists every year. In addition, many residents and tourists alike visit Museum Campus, a 10-acre lakefront park surrounding three of the city’s main museums: the Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the Shedd Aquarium. The Museum Campus joins the southern section of Grant Park which includes the renowned Art Institute of Chicago.
