Andrew Sfekas has been a research professor at Kellogg since 2005. His research interests focus on health economics and empirical industrial organization, with particular focuses on hospital competition and cigarette marketing. He has previously conducted research on the effects of hospital quality report cards, learning by doing in heart surgery, methods of evaluating hospital antitrust cases, and the effect of health insurance on changes in wealth due to illness. His current projects include studies of the use of price discounts in cigarette markets and the effects of hospital report cards on patient sorting.
