Kisan First

Kisan First lifts small farmers in India out of poverty by engaging them in food processing (e.g. processing tomatoes into tomato sauce). We provide farmers access to the capital and management expertise necessary to form Joint Venture Processing Plants, giving them ownership in a high-value activity that greatly improves the economic conditions under which they earn their livelihood and dramatically increases and stabilizes their incomes.

Kisan First partners with organizations called Producer Companies (PCs), which are farmer-owned entities similar to cooperatives. Producer Companies co-invest with Kisan First to form the Joint Venture Processing Plants. Kisan First then negotiates buyer contracts from retail and corporate buyers of processed goods.
