Anything is Possible at Kellogg

Today I celebrate a year since being announced as the dean of Kellogg. It’s been a transforming, invigorating and hectic year. I have met so many incredible people connected with Kellogg who energize me every day, as we work to set our trajectory for 2030.

There are two people in my life who have taught me that anything is possible in academia. The first was Don Jacobs, the dean of Kellogg when I was a graduate student—the man who transformed Kellogg into an international powerhouse and provided the example for how to build a one-of-a-kind academic culture. The other is John Sexton, the president of NYU. It was John who helped me discover the dean and strategist within me.

What both men have taught me is that boldness is possible in academics—you can have big dreams. With a vision, firm resolve and a bit of grit along the way, we can transform education in mighty ways. Settling for anything less than extraordinary is not an option.
