| The Kellogg Mosaic

| | This
week, the Kellogg community joined together in celebration of global diversity
as part of MOSAIC Week. | Key to building Kellogg's
global architecture is cultivating interconnections that span both within
and across our many cultures, campuses, programs, global origins and intellectual
perspectives. At Kellogg, we take pride in the rich mosaic that makes up our vibrant,
multi-faceted community.
It's a commitment born out of a longstanding belief in the transformative power
of a strong and collaborative organizational culture-a culture that recognizes
that bringing together diverse perspectives enriches learning, inspires innovation
and develops strong leaders. Interconnecting on Campus Monday
marked the kickoff of MOSAIC Week, Kellogg's annual celebration of global diversity
organized by our full-time students. MOSAIC Week features speakers, performances
and a wide variety of activities inspired by muses from around the world (like
the Bollywood Bash and a "Tastes of the Middle East" cooking class).
This annual celebration gives voice to the vast array of cultures, perspectives
and people that make Kellogg so dynamic. Last month, we hosted the 2012
Africa Business Conference, where we had the honor of welcoming H. E. Chief
Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria. Later this month, we'll host
our 2012
Latin America Business Conference, which will feature successful entrepreneurs
like Julio Vasconcellos, the CEO of Peixe Urbano, Brazil's largest daily deal
site. And next month, we'll host the 2012
India Business Conference as well as the Greater
China Business Conference. Engaging Globally On Monday,
I'll head to Mexico to serve as co-chair of the 2012 convening of the World
Economic Forum on Latin America. This is a great honor for me and for Kellogg.
This meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to participate in important
conversations that examine Latin America's role in the global economy. From where
I sit, key
to this conversation will be setting an agenda for how we educate the future
leaders of the Latin American workforce to face the complexities and leverage
the unparalleled opportunities that will be available to the region in the 21st
century. This event is particularly timely as we continue to deepen Kellogg's
commitment to global markets, with Latin America being key among them. This year,
we expanded our Miami
campus to meet rising demand for our executive education programs there, and
we've recently established a new partnership with Fundação
Dom Cabral in Brazil. Over the coming months, we will be opening a shared
office in São Paolo. I welcome
